Unfortunately, I am more than a little skeptical about the so called allies and their TRUE INTENTIONS and hidden secret agendas that may well be at play here in this instance as has been the case so many, many times in other conflicts around the world. I am pretty sure they are not doing this out of any LOVE or duty of care they feel for the Libyan people. I genuinely hope I am wrong, and my skepticism is misplaced but sadly and predictably I fear I will be proven to be correct in this matter and the world will have taken yet another step closer to.....? well we will have to wait and see what I think that will be. I understand the limits of my new country (I am now a U.S. citizen) but I also appreciate its freedoms and opportunities. It is an imperfect country surely. It is not equal in every way not at all. But it is certainly better than my home country and I do not say this without sorrow for my native land. That is my disclosure so you can understand that I do not think the U.S. is perfect or always right. HOWEVER, I do not completely understand why the world community should be surprised that the U.S. acts in this case and not in Bahrain. There is a HUGE difference to me between clashes between protestors and police which result in deaths and a country's leader BOMBING his own people, turning FIGHTER JETS on his own people. It is true the U.S. can invade Iraq and Afghanistan yet turn a blind eye to Rwanda. STILL, we should all be ashamed not to stop a ruler from turning bombs and fighters jets on his own people. I would cry and be ashamed to see the U.S. and France stand aside while a rule turned fighter jets and bombs on his own people. There are distinctions. A life is a life. A weapon is a weapon. But there is a difference of degrees. There are distinctions and rules regarding when force may be applied against a group of people and how much force may be applied against a group of people. The U.S. is NOT always right but I believe we should interfere in this case. PLEASE EXPLAIN TO ME SO I CAN UNDERSTAND WHY YOU REALLY FEEL THIS IS NOT PROPER.
